Tube type fresh water generator
The waste heat of the cooling water in the cylinders of the main engine is utilized to heat seawater, which is then vaporized under certain temperature and vacuum condition. The vapor, after being condensed, becomes fresh water that can supplement the need on board of operational ships. The heat exchangers are of tube-shell type, which is comparably cost-effective and also simplifies the maintenance work. The unique side door design provides a full view of the chamber allowing observation of the heat exchangers inside.
